THE BUILD MANAGEMENT PROCESS

Classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, and everyday streeters – we do it all with a focus on quality and attention to detail.  We believe our reputation and past builds/restorations speak volumes about our capability. We encourage you to scrutinise our build galleries and to visit our workshop to inspect our work firsthand.

Build Summary Plan

As car enthusiasts ourselves, we understand that it is a big step to entrust your car to others.  However, be assured that our team of restoration experts will work closely with you every step of the way and keep you informed as to progress. The primary objective of the Build Management Process is to ensure that you, the customer, are completely up to date throughout your build at each stage until delivery. Should the build specification change, the impact of the change will be notified, explained and agreed with the customer.

Estimated Costs and Timelines

At Ol' School Garage, we've implemented a straightforward pricing system. In most cases, our work is billed based on an hourly rate, and any parts and services provided by external sources are charged at cost plus an industry-standard markup. Additionally, consumables are priced at a flat rate of $5 per hour. This cost-plus approach ensures significant cost savings for our clients compared to typical retail rates, thanks to our purchasing capabilities and access to trade discounts. Please note that all quoted hourly rates exclude GST.

Managing Build Plan Variations

Although we can't guarantee additional work will not be required (as is the nature of restoring old cars), we can guarantee you will know exactly what you are paying for through our weekly progress reporting and invoicing process. This ensures that there are no nasty surprises when the car and final invoice are delivered.

Invoicing and Reporting

Our commitment to transparency means that we want our customers to have a clear understanding of their charges. To achieve this, we provide weekly progress invoices that include a comprehensive breakdown of labor performed, parts acquired, and a visual diary of the work. While project estimates may change as unforeseen issues arise during the process, we will always communicate any necessary modifications and their impact. We believe in making these decisions collaboratively with you, ensuring there are no hidden costs or unpleasant surprises when it's time to settle the invoice.
