It is remarkable to think that this 48 year old car has travelled less than 50 thousand miles. The car was purchased by Ol' School Garage in California where it has spent all its life (it arrived with the original black Californian number plates). The car retains its original Chev 283 engine that starts first time every time and runs perfectly. The 2-speed Powerglide transmission also shifts smoothly.
When the car was inspected on arrival, we found no evidence of rust, all lights and gauges in working order and the original interior trim was in great shape. The only obvious blemish was a small dent in the LH rear quarter that was quickly dealt with by our panel beater. We were disappointed to find that the car had been resprayed at some stage which in itself is not a problem. However, the creative painter added a little white pearl to the white paint and it had yellowed slightly over time. Being such a nice original car, we decided to return the exterior to its former glory.
While in the car is in the shop we will take the opportunity to overhaul the motor, refurbish the suspension and detail the underside of the car. The radiator will be replaced as the old one has seen better days. The exterior stainless trim will be repaired if required before being given a good buff and polish. Allow the interior is in great shape and obviously well maintained over the years, our in-house detailer has given it a good spring clean.
