EK Holden Restomod
Scope of work
- Extensive rust repair
- Custom chassis fabrication
- Independent front end
- LS1 V8 & 6 speed manual
- BMW M5 seats
This Holden EK was bought to Ol' School Garage for a bare metal, custom build. The owner was after a host of custom fabrication, mechanical and design work with a clear vision of the finished product in mind.
Once we took delivery of the car, it was dismantled and put on a rotisserie in preparation for sandblasting.
The floor was rusted and sill panels were rusted out on both sides and needed replacement. As part of the metal work, the door dividers were deleted and the front doors extended to fill the void.
The front end is a Castlemaine Rodshop kit consisting of power-steer rack, adjustable suspension and disc-brake setup. The rear end is a Ford 9" differential. The engine is a Gen 3 LS1 that was de-stroked to a capacity of 5.0L to keep the engineers in NSW happy.
BMW M5 electric seats were used due to their level of comfort and adjustment.
This restoration is currently underway so stay tuned for more updates.
