Following on yesterday's post, a follower sent through these great photos of a Mk II Jag racing at Bathurst. I didn't realise the Mk II was had such a enviable racing pedigree (maybe because it one its first ATCC title before I was born).
My superficial research revealed that during the early 60's the Mk II claimed four ATCC titles in a row. The racing version of the car was powered by a 4.1 litre ‘big bore’ version of the standard 3.8 litre twin-cam straight six. Bob Jane's Mk II was officially timed at Bathurst on Conrod Straight at 151 mph (242 km/h).
Mickey thinks that these particular photos were taken around 1988. Thanks for sharing.
