In my recent post fare-welling our R/T Charger build, I mentioned that I was working on another iconic Aussie muscle car project. Well, the deal has been done and today we took delivery of this 1970 HG GTS Monaro. It is a little worse for wear, but nothing that the Ol' School Garage resto team can't fix (although I wasn't all that encouraged by the look on Roland's face).
All three tags are present and I can confirm that this is a genuine manual GTS V8 car. The original colour was Florentine Gold Metallic and the interior was sandalwood and black. What a fantastic combination. So my plan is for a full 'nut and bolt' restoration back to the original spec (with maybe the odd twist).
Although the Fab Shop is full at present, excitement levels are high and I am sure it won't be too long until we make a start.
