Our 1965 Fastback Mustang resto-mod project is now in full swing.
You may recall from a previous post that the drivetrain came out of a 1965 Mustang Coupe project being built in LA. Although the seller fell on hard times, he supplied invoices showing that over US$30,000 had already been spent on parts for the project.
After our LA-based buyer did his due diligence we decided to buy the coupe and transplant the parts into a 65 Fastback roller we had previously purchased.
I am delighted to report that our engine guru and workshop manager Craig 'Jackie' Johnston has inspected the engine and we couldn't be happier. The blue-printed 351 turned out to be a 408. It has obviously been professionally built and is full of performance components. And to top things off, it has never been fired.
This is one tough engine! And a great heart for what we hope will be a very special build.
