As you know, our 1928 Model A roadster is in the workshop receiving a 'facelift'. So I thought why not work on our 1930 Model A Tudor at the same time.
I picked up the Tudor at Mecum's Anaheim auction last November. I purchased this car with the intention of doing something funky with it. But never really had a plan.
But as the car is very original and in great condition, it would be a shame to turn it into a traditional hot rod. So I've decided to take the middle ground and turn it into a tribute to the original hot rodders...the daredevil moonshine runners of the US prohibition era.
To achieve this we plan to gain some extra speed by doubling the power output from the original 4-pot engine and decreasing the curb weight by removing some non-essential components including the front and rear bumpers. Handling will also be improved by lowering the ride height. And we will add some cool paint so the car also looks the part.
