I like to have a one or two of my own cars in the restoration shop when I can (but customer cars always take priority). Thus, as work on my R/T Charger and 60 El Camino are coming to a close, I have decided to get my 55 Chev 2-door Hardtop out of mothballs to try and get it finished.
When it was put into storage Roland had completed extensive body repairs including the installation of a new floor, new sills and a stack of minor rust repairs. So I am hoping the worst is behind us and it is smooth sailing from here (wishful thinking I know).
Last week we got the chassis out of storage and Alex finished off the prep work ready for paint. It will now go back to the Fab Shop as we have decided to upgrade the rear suspension with a 4-link and coil-overs. We will get the body out of storage as soon as we make room in the Fab Shop.
I will post more progress late.
