The first of our two 1960 Chev Impala 'Bubble-Tops' being restored by our Californian-based partner, Rick's Hi-Deserts Customs, has been completed. It will be picked up this week by our shipper in LA for loading into our next container. Rick's team have performed a spectacular frame-off restoration and the result is a show-quality car.
The car's original colour scheme, inside and out, has been reinstated and every component has been either replaced or refurbished. The only exception is the cars original 283 small block which will be completely rebuilt by Ol' School Garages's in-house engine guru, Craig 'Jackie' Johnston when it arrives in Brisbane. The engine will include a performance manifold and cam, a dual crossover exhaust and other performance tweaks to give it a significant power boost over the factory spec.
