We here at Ol' School Garage love the classic styling of the 32 roadsters hot rod, but it's near on impossible to come up something different. It's all pretty much been done over the years. Well, we've decided to give it a go anyway! If nothing else, we plan to build a roadster that maximises Aussie input and innovation.
A big 'thank you' to Wally and Mick at C&W Components for fast tracking the body build. Now it's head-down-bum-up to build our 'affordable roadster' proof of concept. We would like to launch the finished car at the Qld Hot Rod Show in May 2016.
Jackie has spent a lot of time researching components and working with our artist to finalise his design. He has come up with an innovative suspension design to ensure the roadster handles and performs as good as it will look.
Leon has set the following design criteria: (1) it must retain the classic Deuce styling; (2) components and services to be sourced/built in Australia where possible; (3) it must handle and perform like a modern sports car; and (4) it must be affordable. Good luck achieving the last two Jackie as they may prove mutually exclusive.
