1966 Mustang Convertible Restoration
- Sand blasted body
- Frame-off restoration
- Accident and rust repairs
- 347ci stroker engine build
- Rebuilt drive-line
- Essentially a new car when finished
We had been commissioned to turn this Mustang convertible into a dream ride - a comfortable cruiser with a few upgrades along the way.
The body showed signs of age with bubbles forming underneath the paint. There were also signs of rust spots around the underbody.
Sandblasting revealed rust in the inner sills. Later rust was found in the outer sills too. Being a convertible, this meant the car's structural integrity was compromised. To compensate for having no roof, the sills in the convertible are reinforced in the factory.
The body received a replacement quarter panel, sills and a floor pan as part of the rust repair process.
With the time and effort that has gone into this restoration project we are very proud with the end result.
